Have you heard of #GivingTuesday? After a day of giving thanks and a day of getting deals, #GivingTuesday was established as a day to give back. Falling on Tuesday, December 2 this year, #GivingTuesday was established in 2012 to encourage philanthropy and generosity.
More than 10,000 organizations have become involved with #GivingTuesday since its inception.
Karma for Cara is participating in #GivingTuesday this year. Here’s how it works: On Tuesday, December 2, donate to Karma for Cara. That’s it! We’re asking our supporters to visit our donation page at any point on December 2 and make a donation of any amount to K4C. Right now, we have 1,028 followers on Facebook. If each of those followers donated just $10, we’d raise $10,280!!
We can do big things with that money. We can print and distribute our children’s book, “Cara Cookie Volunteers,” to schools and libraries throughout the country, educating kids about the importance of volunteering and encouraging them to get involved in community service, too. We can make and send Karma for Cara Service Club-in-a-Box kits to high schools who have groups of students who want to participate in monthly volunteer projects, but just aren’t sure how to start yet. We can award microgrants to kids needing funding to complete their own service projects, such as building a children’s center at a homeless shelter, or donating books to families through Habitat for Humanity, or feeding the hungry. We can recognize outstanding leaders in service and excellent nurses.
We can help make a difference.
So on this Tuesday, December 2, please join us for #GivingTuesday. Any amount helps! Remember, kids who learn the importance of volunteering today learn more than just the value of giving back. They learn teamwork, problem solving and creativity, too. They learn the skills to help them be the compassionate and driven leaders and problem solvers of tomorrow.
When December 2 comes around, make an impact! Donate to Karma for Cara.
