Q&A With Microgrant Recipient Alice

Categories:

Karma for Cara Foundation microgrant recipients have competed in an application process alongside other young people who have spearheaded exceptional service projects that benefit their communities. In order to qualify for a K4C award, an applicant must be 18 years of age or younger, and the project must take place in the US.

Who? Alice, Founder and President of Finclusion, a nonprofit shaping the next generation of socially responsible investors.

What? Finclusion Fellowships For Title One Public High School Students

Where? Orinda, CA

Why? To address wealth inequality by teaching hands on financial literacy. The 3 month-long Finclusion fellowships are available to students all over the US at Finclusion’s partner Title I public high schools. Under the guidance of one of Finclusion’s experienced mentors, fellows learn to write a full-length equity research report on a socially responsible company of their choice. To accomplish this, Finclusion’s team developed an 8 week long curriculum covering topics ranging from introductory financial analysis to competitive edge analysis. Throughout the program, fellows receive weekly lectures & continuous guidance on how to conduct research on various aspects of a company. The culmination is an annual stock pitching competition, where fellows present their stock analysis, and top performers secure a small cash prize to invest in their chosen stock.
