Underestimated. Underutilized.

Society underestimates youth and their unique capacity to play a meaningful role in repairing our world. Karma for Cara Foundation (K4C) empowers youth to repair our world. We support developing citizen leaders at a very early age, giving them the foundation to take active roles in community-building through volunteerism and service. Using the power of storytelling and an easily understood real-life example, K4C helps children as young as five recognize their ability to positively impact the world.

CARA COOKIE VOLUNTEERS

K4C provides teens inspiration and financial support to take their ideas and burgeoning projects to the next, increasingly impactful level. These young people are citizen leaders, endeavoring to make and already making a difference in our world. By helping build and better the communities in which they live, they help repair our world.

MICROGRANT APPLICATION

Karma for Cara Foundation was founded by 21-year-old Cara Becker and her family. At the time, Cara was being treated for leukemia. The concept of Karma for Cara was literally created in Cara’s hospital room. What began as a couple of blood drives quickly grew into much more.

As the best way to honor Cara’s legacy and support young citizen leaders nationwide, in 2016 K4C focused its efforts on the Microgrant Program, Cara Cookie Volunteers and other books for young children related to service, and the Inspired to Serve Program for students.
